October’s temperatures are in the high 80’s with lows in the 60’s.

Making October, in our opinion, the best time of year to travel to Rocky Point with a high temperature of 88 degrees and a water temperature of 79 degrees. If you travel during the last 2 weeks of October there are fewer tourists and more affordable rates. If you’re interested in whale watching, however, visit from December to March. How to prepare for the hotter months

During the summer months, especially July and August, the the sun’s intensity can be very strong.  Even a few minutes of sun can cause sunburn, so prepare for the intense sun by packing a bottle of sunscreen and a swimsuit cover-up; that way you won’t have to go shopping for such items when you arrive and are ready to hit the beach. Bring a wide-brimmed hat if you have one; if not, they are easy to acquire in Puerto Peñasco. If you’re traveling with small children, consider buying them a UV-protecting swimsuit, so you don’t have to slather sunscreen on them excessively.  It takes a little time to adjust to the heat, make sure you drink plenty of fluids.
