Sonoran Sky Resort in Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), Mexico

The Sonoran Sky Resort was completed in 2007 and is the newest of the Sonoran resorts. You will love the luxurious old world Mexican style architecture present throughout the resort. The resort is one beachfront tower with 136 units where all 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom condos face the ocean. This boutique style resort gives you a more intimate feeling than some of the larger Sandy Beach Resorts.

In the lobby area you will find a well-stocked mini market, business center with fast speed internet, state of the art fitness center, conference and banquet room. There is also a spa on the lobby’s upper floor which offers massages and many other spa services. There is also a children’s play area and charcoal barbecue grills.

The Sonoran Sky Resort has 4 ocean side swimming pools. There are 2 adult pools, 1 children’s pool and 1 family Jacuzzi. On the ocean side you will find a negative edge pool and right below it is a beach front swimming pool with a swim up bar. Your children will also enjoy sliding down the small water slide in the kids pool.

Other amenities include underground parking, concierge service, outdoor poolside movie theater. There is also a shaded deck that offers a Tiki Bar, hammock chairs and shaded palapas.

All ocean front condominiums have a modern and elegant feeling to them. They all have full kitchens with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. There are ceiling fans throughout, wall mounted plasma TV, hi-speed wireless internet, washer and dryer. All condos have master bedrooms with their own private bathroom and terrace.

The Sonoran Sky Resort in Rocky Point has the perfect Sandy Beach location offering wide open beaches and only a short drive to downtown. When taking a beach walk you will find a variety of fun beach vendors. Some of the things they offer are the popular chili-dusted mangoes on a stick, hair braiding, silver jewelry and more. At the water’s edge, you will find Jet Ski rentals available as well as the always fun banana boat rides.

Sonoran Sky Resort 1 Bedroom 1 Bath Condo.  Sleeps 2 adults and 2 children 12 years old and under if condo has a sofa bed.  If no sofa bed then only 2 guests are allowed in condo.  Ocean front views, full kitchen, balcony, living room.  King or queen bed in master bedroom.
Living area has a total of 734 sq ft plus a 189 sq ft balcony.  923 total sq ft.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes, you can order food and drinks from the swim up bar located on the lower level pool by the ocean.

No, this is not available right at the Sonoran Sky Resort.  But there are always vendors on the beach right in front of the resort who have jet skies, banana boat rides, paddle boards and kayaks available for rent.  You can also get a beach massage at very affordable rates.  Usually about 40.00 an hour.

Check in is at 4 pm and check out is at 11 am.  If you arrive earlier than 4 pm you can check in and get your bracelets and you will be allowed to use the restaurant and facilities in the common areas while you wait for your condo to be ready.

ATV rentals are not available right at Sonoran Sky Resort but you will see lots of vendors down the street.  They are almost everywhere in the Sandy beach area.

The pool closes every day at 10pm

No, there is no daily maid service provided but if you wish you can schedule a cleaning at the front desk for an additional fee.

Room service is not available but restaurant is located on the ground floor where you can place your order and come back and get it later.

Yes, charcoal BBQ grills are available on the second floor of the Sonoran Sky Rocky Point.  Bring your own charcoal.

Yes, every condo has a balcony with an ocean view.

Yes, there is free WiFi at the pool area and lobby.  When you make your reservation check to see if your particular condo has WiFi as not all condos have it.

You are only allowed to smoke in the common areas and balconies unless otherwise stated.

No, you can use the water for bathing, doing dishes, etc. We recommend you bring bottled water for drinking and brushing your teeth.

No, pets are not allowed at the Sonoran Sky Resort.  This includes service animals.

No, only resort guests are allowed to enjoy the facilities.

No, extra bracelets are not available for sale.  You will only get bracelets for the people allowed to be in your condo and they are included with your reservation.

Yes, everyone staying at the Sonoran Sky Resort requires a bracelet with he exception of children ages 2 years old and younger.

The occupancy limits are as follows:
1 Bedroom Condo sleeps  2 adults and 2 children 12 years old and younger.  Two people if no sofa bed.
2 Bedroom Condo sleeps 4 adults and 2 children 12 years old and younger.  Four people if no sofa bed.
3 Bedroom Condo sleeps 6 adults and 2 children 12 years old and younger.  Six people if no sofa bed.

Children 2 years and younger do not get bracelets.

The Sonoran Sky Resort has its own restaurant. Downtown “Malecon” where you will find a variety of restaurants, bars and shops is located only about a 5 to 8 minute drive away.  Calle 13, another popular spot is also just about a 5 minute drive away or less than 2 mile walk on the beach.  Visit our maps page for directions.

Yes, you can have a cooler with your own food and drinks by the upper level pool but make sure all your drinks are in plastic containers.  No glass allowed.

Yes, the Sonoran Sky does have a swim up bar right by the ocean.

No, all inclusive packages are not available at the Sonoran Sky Resort Puerto Peñasco.

Yes, at least one person in your group has to be 25 or older.

GOOD TO KNOW

  • All condos have ocean views but higher levels give you more panoramic views of the ocean.
  • The hotel consists of one tower with 15 floors.
  • All condos are individually owned and furnished differently.
  • The highest floors are more quiet.  Condos located on the first, second or third floor tend to be louder do to their close proximity to the pools, playground and picnic area.
  • Bath towels are provided in each condo but there is no daily maid service so if you are staying longer than a couple of days plan on doing some laundry.
  • All condos have a washer and dryer.
  • Bring your own pool-beach towels.
  • Shampoo, conditioner, napkins, paper towels, salt pepper and cooking oil are not provided with the condo.
  • Not all condos have WiFi.  There is however free WiFi at the lobby and pool area.
  • Sonoran Sky Resort is located right next to Playa Bonita RV Park.
  • Most condos have standard coffee makers.  Bring your own standard filters.
  • There is noise control after 10PM
